There is a background hum that most people never examine — the unquestioned sense of being a separate self, navigating a world that is not you. It feels so obvious it barely seems worth noticing. It is, in fact, the place where everything begins.

This is a 90-minute live online session guided by Doug Fraley. You won't be asked to speak, appear on camera, or share anything with the group. Your camera and mic are off throughout — the session is designed so you know you are safe to work with your whole reality.

Not as a concept but as a felt experience. You'll locate the specific quality of being a bounded, isolated 'you' — the one who is reading this, the one who worries, the one who hopes. You'll bring it into focus before you question it.

Inquire into whether a separate self actually exists

With Doug's guidance, you'll look directly at what you take to be yourself and ask a simple question: is it actually there? Not as philosophy — as investigation. Most people find the answer more surprising than they expected.

Glimpse the paths ahead

Format

How the session works

This session runs in broadcast configuration. You'll see and hear Doug throughout. Your camera and mic are off. If something lands — or doesn't — you can send a private message via chat. Those messages are seen only by Doug, and anything shared with the group is anonymised.
